About Us

Savanna Creative was established in 2015, and became a registered business in the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada that same year. It began, like so many other small businesses, at the kitchen table. By 2018 it had moved into a 500 square foot studio space and operates year round. While the main focus is abstract acrylic fluid art and its many techniques, typically on canvas or wood panels, multi media projects are also pursued from time to time. Works may be as small as 5”x7”, or as large as 48”x48” or 24”x72”, and everything in between.

Savanna Creative sells original one-of-a-kind paintings, and will consider commissions when time permits and the project is a good fit with what we specialize in. More than fifty paintings are on display in the studio, which allows those interested in commissioning an art piece the opportunity to look at a wide variety of techniques, sizes, colour combinations, and finishes. An appointment to visit the studio is required by calling 306-260-7025 or emailing savanna@sasktel.net. Testimonial: “I reached out to Carol with the idea of doing an art piece on a guitar in March 2021. Even though she had never done anything like this, she was up for the challenge. Her commitment to the vision I had for the piece was uncompromising. It was a pleasure working with Carol on the project. She made sure the finished piece followed the brief, and it was absolutely stunning. The commissioned piece was designed to be a gift, and since I loved it so much, I had a hard time giving it away.” Pratyush D.

You can find our art work on everything from clothing, accessories, household items, and more in the stores we have set up on Redbubble and Le Galeriste. With such a wide selection of items to choose from, personal and corporate gift giving has never been so unique and easy to buy. Testimonial: “Carol’s designs are beautiful to wear. My first purchase was a T-shirt dress from her Redbubble shop with the image from her painting called “Fire”. It is a great-to-wear item with it's fluid design in my favourite colors. I liked it so much that I purchased the A-line dress in the “Fleur” pattern. Fleur has been so comfortable to wear through the hot summer. It is easy to dress up or down for any occasion.” Diane C.

Fluid art and paint pouring have become very popular art forms, and Savanna Creative offers workshops for individuals and small groups (maximum four). Participants are provided with everything they need to have fun learning something new and creating their own unique original masterpiece. Many of our past participants have returned to continue to ‘play with paint’. Testimonial: “I always wanted to try this type of art but I didn’t have any of the supplies at home. My best friend and I took our moms to Savanna Creative Studio and we had a blast. Carol is such a gifted artist, and the studio is absolutely beautiful. What a great way to escape for awhile and get creative!” Kari B.

Carol Lumb

In 2015 a journey began following a chance encounter with a YouTube video showing a fluid artist pouring paint onto a canvas. The result was an abstract work of art that was, at once, both beautiful and mysterious. I was so intrigued I had to try it. My love of this art form has resulted in a studio where I can explore all the various techniques of fluid art, offer classes for individuals and groups who wish to create a masterpiece of their own, and collaborate with other artists. The journey continues……

Shelda Hutton

Shelda can best be described as the epitome of what it means to be creative. From the early days of making her children’s clothes, to upholstery and home decor, she evolved her design aesthetic into designing and decorating homes, acting as the general contractor for the trades to ensure everything was to her standard of perfection. Now semi-retired, she pursues a variety of creative pursuits including quilling, macrame, mixed media, abstract and three-dimensional art. Most recently, she has discovered a love of fluid art and paint pouring.

Bernie Sharp

Upon retirement, Bernie undertook some home renovations, and through that discovered hidden talents for fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. These talents developed into a love of making furniture and garden art, as well as useful tools to support his wife’s passion for crafting and painting. As the expression goes, among family and friends, “If you can imagine it, he can build it.”
